Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a film from 1956 that tells the story of an alien invasion where the aliens can look like humans. The concept was so compelling that we kept on retelling it.
It was first redone in a stellar 1978 version with Donald Sutherland. After that, it was remade two more times: with an uneven but not without its merits version in 1993 and a completely forgettable version in 2007.
We're about overdue for yet another remake of this classic film.
In these times, I think part of the audience will see this as a documentary. A story with very real facts about the hidden nature of our planet.
The notion that something external is responsible for the horrors of the world would be very comforting.
After all, it couldn't be us.
Not us.
