I've always wanted to be free. To be free of all restriction and confinement.
When I was four, they latched the back door of the second floor place we lived in.
The back door went to a rooftop that I liked playing on but they wouldn't allow me to go there on my own.
The latch was a simple affair: a cabin hook and circular eye latch. Not hard to undo but it was five feet off the ground.
I knew that standing on my tricycle seat wasn't enough so I got the longest knife I could from the kitchen and, while standing on the tricycle seat, starting to flick at the hook with the long serrated knife.
My mother walked in and stopped me but her victory was only temporary.
Once you know that you need to be free, you'll never stop.
