I've only once had to wear a tie for a job. It was part of my uniform as a security guard for a rich people's condo. The building was nine stories tall with around 10 units per floor.
I worked the night shift from midnight to 8 am. During my shift, I watched the cameras at the front desk, buzzed people in, and did rounds twice a night.
One guy had escorts visit him on a regular basis. They came by on my shift and I would buzz them in.
Someone must have complained to management about certain “undesirable” visitors, so they asked me if any sex workers had come by and I told them I hadn't noticed anyone who looked suspicious.
This must've helped the tenant because I got an extra-large tip during the holiday season.
The tie was a clip-on. They're so damn convenient. Plus they don't choke you.
